Tour Overview

Guided archaeology at Ephesus, Pamukkale, and the Ionian coast fills the first section. Then the format shifts: an economy-class rental car and pre-booked hotels hand you a self-drive Turkey coast route through Bodrum, Fethiye, Kas, and Antalya. Fourteen days of structure where it matters and freedom where it counts make this the best-value long Turkey package for independent travelers.

Day 2 ─

Full Day Guided Ephesus Tour

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

09:00 - Morning pick-up from your Kusadasi/Selcuk hotel for the full-day guided Ephesus program.

  • Ephesus Ancient City: Ephesus in the late afternoon takes on a different quality as the sun drops toward the Aegean, casting long shadows across the marble columns and turning the stone warm orange. Many visitors who arrive mid-morning stay longer than they planned, pulled from one monument to the next by the depth of what the ancient city offers. Comfortable walking shoes and a good guide are the two most important things you can bring.
  • House of Virgin Mary: Surrounded by pine forest on a mountain above Ephesus, the House of Virgin Mary feels set apart from the busy ancient city below in every possible way. Inside the small stone chapel, rows of candles flicker near an altar, and the scale of the space encourages reflection rather than sightseeing. Many visitors say this stop is the most emotionally affecting part of the entire Ephesus tour.
  • Temple of Artemis: Near Selcuk in western Turkey, the Temple of Artemis site sits on low, occasionally waterlogged ground that makes a strange contrast to its former glory. Archaeologists believe the marshy location was intentional, ancient builders chose ground near the coast specifically to associate the temple with the sea and with Artemis's domain as a nature deity. Reading the landscape that way, even the plain field around the lone column begins to make sense.

16:00 - Transfer back to your hotel in Kusadasi/Selcuk.

Overnight stay in Kusadasi/Selcuk.

Day 3 ─

Priene, Miletos, Didyma & Move to Kusadasi/Selcuk

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

08:30 - Check out from Kusadasi/Selcuk and depart with your guide for the Ionian archaeology route.

  • Priene Ancient City: Priene is the best-preserved example of a Hellenistic city grid plan in the ancient world, laid out with perpendicular streets on the slope of a mountain above the Buyuk Menderes plain. The compact site includes a well-preserved theatre, a council hall, a gymnasium, and the columns of the Temple of Athena, the building Alexander the Great personally funded.
  • Miletos Ancient City: Miletos was one of the most influential cities in the ancient Greek world, a philosophical and commercial center whose thinkers helped found the tradition of rational inquiry into the natural world. The massive Roman theatre, the harbor monument, and the agora ruins show how the city maintained its prominence across Greek, Hellenistic, and Roman periods.
  • Didyma Temple of Apollon: The Temple of Apollon at Didyma was one of the largest temples ever built in the ancient world and never fully completed despite centuries of construction, leaving it in a state of magnificent incompletion. The surviving columns, threshold slabs, and oracle chamber walls give a rare sense of monumental ancient construction that is more legible here than at any other comparable site.

17:00 - Continue to your hotel in Kusadasi/Selcuk after the day program.

Overnight stay in Kusadasi/Selcuk.

Day 4 ─

Free Day in Kusadasi/Selcuk

Meal: Breakfast

Free day in Kusadasi/Selcuk, explore the marina, visit the medieval Genoese castle on the island, take a beach break, or browse the bazaar district at your own pace.

Overnight stay in Kusadasi/Selcuk.

Day 5 ─

Pamukkale Tour, Collect Rental Car & Drive Bodrum

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

08:00 - Pick up from your hotel in Kusadasi/Selcuk for the guided Pamukkale tour.

  • Pamukkale: Arriving at Pamukkale, most people stop walking the moment they see the hillside. Sheets of pure white travertine reflect the sunlight so sharply they almost look like snow in summer. This UNESCO World Heritage Site in Denizli province is one of those rare places that genuinely exceeds the photographs.
  • White Calcium Terraces: Sunrise on the white calcium terraces at Pamukkale is worth the early wake-up call. The travertine glows orange and pink before the day heats up, and the terraces are mostly empty in the first hour after opening. By midday the light turns harsh and flat, morning is simply the best time to see this mineral formation at its most photogenic.
  • Hierapolis Ancient City: Hierapolis grew into a major city over several centuries, absorbing Greek, Roman, and later Byzantine influences in its architecture and culture. The colonnaded main street that runs through the site was paved in Roman times and still shows the ruts carved by cart wheels over centuries of use. At the far northern end of the ruins, thousands of ancient tombs mark the edge of the city where the living gave way to the dead.
  • Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool: An earthquake centuries ago turned Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool into something more interesting than an ordinary Roman bath. When the tremor toppled nearby structures, marble columns and stone fragments tumbled directly into the pool, and they have remained submerged there ever since. Today visitors swim at 36 degrees among this ancient architectural debris, an experience that is entirely optional and paid for on-site, outside the tour price. Swimming is not included in the tour price and is payable on-site.

After the Pamukkale tour, collect your economy-class rental car at the designated pickup point. This is where the package transitions from guided touring to self-drive coastal freedom.

Drive independently to your hotel in Bodrum.

Overnight stay in Bodrum.

Day 6 ─

Free Day in Bodrum

Overnight stay in Fethiye.

Day 9 ─

Free Day in Fethiye

Overnight stay in Kas.

Day 11 ─

Self-Drive from Kas to Antalya

Drive from Kas to Antalya along the coastal highway, the last long self-drive day of the package. The road passes the ruins of Myra, the sunken city at Kekova, and the medieval harbor town of Ucagiz if you choose to stop.

Arrive in Antalya and check in to your hotel. The old town of Kaleici is within walking distance of most central hotels for an evening stroll.

Overnight stay in Antalya.

Day 12 ─

Guided Perge, Aspendos, Side & Manavgat Waterfall Tour

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

08:00 - Our representative meets you in Antalya and the guided classical-sites day begins.

  • Perge: Perge was one of the most prosperous Pamphylian cities in antiquity, with a colonnaded main street, monumental gates, a large bath complex, and a stadium that seated around 12,000 people. The original street plan is still easy to read, which makes the site especially rewarding with a guide.
  • Aspendos: The Aspendos theatre is one of the best-preserved Roman theatres in the world, built around 155 AD and still impressive because the stage building stands close to its original height. Its acoustics and scale show the engineering confidence of Roman Pamphylia.
  • Side: Side combines a small ancient port city with a living seaside town. The Temple of Apollon at the water's edge, the Roman gate, and the colonnaded street give the stop a different mood from the inland ruins.
  • Manavgat Waterfall: Manavgat Waterfall is a broad, low waterfall on the Manavgat River, known less for height and more for its powerful flow and refreshing riverside atmosphere. It adds a natural break to the archaeology-heavy day before returning to Antalya.

17:00 - The tour ends and you will be transferred back to your hotel in Antalya.

Overnight stay in Antalya.

Day 13 ─

Free Day in Antalya & Rental Car Return

Tour Overview

Fourteen Days, Two Travel Modes, One Unbeatable Value

  • Guided archaeology opens the trip where it counts most, Ephesus, Priene, Miletos, and Didyma form one of the most significant Ionian heritage routes in the Mediterranean, and a guide makes the difference between understanding what you are looking at and simply walking past it.
  • The self-drive section covers Turkey's most scenic coastline, Bodrum's marina culture, Fethiye's lagoons, the stone town of Kas, and the Roman sites outside Antalya all reward travelers who move at their own pace rather than a bus schedule.
  • Pamukkale at the transition point is the package's pivot, it closes the archaeology block on the most visually dramatic note possible and marks the moment your rental car journey begins.
  • Fourteen pre-booked hotel nights across seven locations mean zero accommodation logistics on the road, just drive to the next town and check in.
  • The Antalya guided day at the end reconnects the trip to history with Perge, Aspendos, and Side before the domestic flight closes the loop back to Istanbul.

This 14-day Turkey coast package delivers everything independent travelers want, guided depth, personal freedom, and seamless logistics. For a shorter version of the same spirit, compare the 7-day Turkey tour or check the 10-day Turkey package if you want a fully guided alternative.

Two weeks in Turkey and honestly I could have stayed longer. The mega tour really earns its name, you cover the entire western half of the country plus Cappadocia. The pace was good, not too rushed. We had a free afternoon in Antalya which was nice for swimming. Gallipoli was very moving. The Aegean coast from Troy through Pergamon to Ephesus was incredible for ancient history. Pamukkale was beautful. And Cappadocia was the perfect grand finale. All flights and long transfers were included. My wife and I agreed this was our best vacation ever. Thank you Toursce team.
