Pergamon Zeus Altar or Zeus Altar, which was built by Attalos Dynasty, the ruler of the Pergamon Kingdom, at 2 BC in Ancient City of Pergamon in the north of Izmir, is a marble religious monument. The building which looks horseshoe is located on Pergamon Acropolis. It is 35.64 meters width and 33.4 meters deep. The stairs, located in front of the building, is 20m width.

The frescoes, located on the outside and inside marbled walls, are among the most important works of art history. The external frescoes tell the story about the war, Olympus’ Gods vs giants (Gigants) at the Hellenistic era and the internal frescoes tell the story about the myth of settling down of Pergamon and Telefos.

The ruins of this magnificent monument were taken away to so-called Prussia by German engineer Carl Humann in 1870. Today, it exhibits in Pergamon Museum at Berlin and is visited thousands of people in every year.
