Uludağ Ski Centre is one of the most famous tourist places of Bursa. It is 2543 meters altitude. It has been a ski resort since 1933 and became a national park in 1961. Between the months of October and April, covers with snow. Because of this feature, it is suitable for winter sports and tourism in half a year. It is established on the hills of Fatintepe and Kuşaklıkaya.
It is one of the most preferred places for Turkey’s winter tourism. Uludağ Ski Centre consists of 2 regions in terms of living area. There are a total of 36 accommodation and stopover facilities in Zone 1. 19 of these facilities are private sector and 17 are public sector. The second area where 4 hotels are located became a tourism center in 1986.
In the Uludağ ski resort, there are many skiing areas such as the northern and alpine skiing. There are ski tracks suitable for all skiing sports. It has 13 main ski tracks and 15 mechanical tracks. At Uludağ Ski Centre, there are snowboarding, ice-skating, big-foot and snow-motorcycle excursions. Helicopter skiing and touring in the region is another privilege for this unique place.
There are ridges such as Zirvetepe, Çobankaya, and Bakacak Hill as well as Uludağ Mountain which is the highest peak of the region. Uludağ’s famous telfer provides a pleasant journey between Bursa-Kadıyayla and Kadıyayla-Sarılan distances.
Uludağ Ski Centre has become a center of attraction, with the options such as picnic activities, camping and trekking which are organized in the summer months, and not only for winter but also for all seasons. It also provides a living area for wild animals such as fox, wolf, jackal, badger, bear, and vulture.
It is possible to see the beautiful Apollo Butterfly in Uludağ in July and August. It contains a total of 12,762 hectares. The ski center is almost an oxygen center covering with 71 percent of the forest area. The hot water located near the center of the Bursa Plain has been turned into hot springs. It has become a place visited by many visitors for healing.
