Video4 Days Gallipoli, Troy, Pamukkale, and Ephesus Tour
4 Days Gallipoli, Troy, Pamukkale, and Ephesus Tour
VideoTour Overview
Gallipoli's WWI memorials, the layered ruins of ancient Troy, Pamukkale's gleaming terraces, and the Library of Celsus at Ephesus follow a natural north-to-south line along western Turkey. A 4-day Gallipoli to Ephesus tour traces that line from Istanbul, stacking battlefield history, Homeric legend, thermal geology, and Roman archaeology into consecutive days.
Tour Itinerary
Gallipoli Battlefield Full Day from Istanbul
Meal: Lunch
06:00 - 07:00 - Pick up from centrally located hotels in Istanbul and depart by road for the Gallipoli Peninsula.
The drive includes short comfort breaks before you reach Eceabat and begin the Gallipoli battlefield route.
- Beach Cemetery: The final resting place of many ANZAC soldiers, located just steps from the sea where they landed in 1915.
- ANZAC Cove: The narrow beach where the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps made their landing under heavy fire.
- Ari Burnu Cemetery: A peaceful cemetery with scenic sea views, holding many graves from the early days of the campaign.
- ANZAC Commemorative Site: A symbolic area where annual dawn services are held, honoring all soldiers who fought here.
- Respect to Mehmetcik Monument: A moving tribute to the Turkish soldiers who bravely defended their homeland during the campaign.
- Lone Pine Australian Memorial: Commemorating Australian soldiers, this site includes trenches and a monument to fallen heroes.
- Johnston's Jolly: Walk through preserved Turkish and Allied trenches that bring the brutal conditions of trench warfare to life.
- Turkish 57th Infantry Regiment Cemetery: Dedicated to the regiment that fought to the last man during the initial landings.
- The Nek: A narrow ridge where tragic charges took place; a symbolic location featured in history and film.
- Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial: A high ridge offering dramatic views, where New Zealand forces made a valiant push in August 1915.
17:00 - Transfer to your hotel in Canakkale after the Gallipoli tour.
Overnight stay in Canakkale
Troy Visit Then Bus Transfer to Kusadasi
Meal: Breakfast
08:30 - Pick up from your hotel in Canakkale and transfer to the Troy site.
The morning is dedicated to the legendary city of Troy before the route continues south by intercity bus.
- Troy Ancient City: Troy's position near the Dardanelles was no accident: controlling this narrow strait meant controlling all trade between the Aegean and the Black Sea. Nine successive civilizations understood that value and built on the same hill, each culture inheriting the strategic advantage of its predecessor. Your guided visit connects the geography of the site to the political and commercial reasons why Troy was continuously worth occupying, fighting over, and rebuilding.
- Trojan Horse Replica: See the modern wooden horse that has become Troy's most recognizable photo stop, connecting the archaeological site with the legendary deception described in Homer's epic world. It gives the visit a visual bridge between myth, Helen and Paris, and the real Bronze Age city beneath your feet.
Around 11:00 - The tour ends and you will be transferred to Canakkale Bus Station.
12:30 - Board the intercity bus from Canakkale toward Kusadasi via Izmir. (Departure time may change; the journey takes approximately 6 hours.)
18:30 - Arrival at the bus station and transfer to your hotel in Kusadasi.
Overnight stay in Kusadasi & Selcuk.
Pamukkale Terraces & Hierapolis Day Trip
Meal: Breakfast & Lunch
08:00 - Pick up from your hotel in Kusadasi or Selcuk for the Pamukkale route.
Travel by road to Pamukkale before the guided exploration of the white terraces and ancient remains begins.
- Pamukkale: Pamukkale stands out even in a country as historically rich as Turkey. Thermal springs carrying dissolved calcium carbonate have been spilling down this hillside in Denizli province for thousands of years, leaving behind the unmistakable white travertine terraces. UNESCO recognized both the geological formation and the ruins of Hierapolis above, making this one of Turkey's most complete heritage destinations.
- White Calcium Terraces: Thermal water emerges from the earth at Pamukkale at around 35 degrees Celsius, warm enough to feel comfortable even on a cool autumn morning. That warmth is what drives the mineral deposition: as the hot water cools while flowing across the hillside, calcium carbonate crystallizes out and slowly builds the travertine terraces. Every centimeter of white rock you see represents years of quiet geological work.
- Hierapolis Ancient City: Hierapolis received its name from the Greek word for 'holy', a fitting choice for a city built around sacred thermal springs. The Greeks and Romans both considered the bubbling hot water a divine gift, and the city's religious life was centered on the main temple complex near the source of the springs. Standing in those ruins above the white calcium terraces today, looking out over Denizli province, it is still easy to understand why ancient people saw this place as something sacred.
- Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool: Warm, mineral-rich water at 36 degrees has been flowing through Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool for centuries, fed by the same underground springs that shaped Pamukkale's white travertine terraces. The pool floor holds a collection of submerged Roman columns and marble pieces, the result of an earthquake that tumbled nearby structures into the water long ago. Entry is not part of the tour price, it is paid directly at the pool if you choose to go in. Swimming is not included in the tour price and is payable on-site.
Free time to explore on your own or enter Cleopatra Antique Pool separately.
16:00 - Transfer back to your hotel after the Pamukkale program.
Overnight stay in Kusadasi & Selcuk.
Ephesus Route & Return Flight to Istanbul
Meal: Breakfast & Lunch
08:30 - Pick up from your hotel in Kusadasi for the Ephesus route.
The final day focuses on the most famous archaeological and sacred stops in the Ephesus area before your flight home.
- Ephesus Ancient City: Standing at the junction of Curetes Street and Marble Road in Ephesus, four of the ancient city's most important monuments are visible at once, the Library of Celsus, the Brothel, the public fountain complex, and the entrance to the Agora. Few spots anywhere in the ancient world offer this density of well-preserved Roman architecture in a single glance. Your guide will place each building in its historical and social context.
- House of Virgin Mary: Meryem Ana Evi, the Turkish name for the House of Virgin Mary, is not just visited by foreign pilgrims. Turkish families and school groups also come regularly, drawn by the site's importance in Islamic tradition as well as its connection to the broader history of Anatolia. That local attendance is a reminder that sacred sites often carry meanings that outlast any single religion.
- Temple of Artemis: Ancient sources describe the Temple of Artemis as a building so magnificent that it eclipsed every other structure of its time, with walls and columns of Parian marble and a cult statue of Artemis adorned with gold, silver, and precious stones. All of that is gone now, its materials scattered across centuries of pillage and reuse. Standing at the site near Selcuk, what you are left with is the location itself, and the imagination that fills it.

Four days of pure history and beauty. Gallipoli was incredibly moving, standing on those beaches where so many soldiers lost there lives really puts things in perspective. Troy the next day was cool seeing the excavation layers and the replica wooden horse. Then Pamukkale blew my mind, walking barefoot on those white terraces with warm water flowing over your feet. Ephesus on the last day was the cherry on top, the library facade is stunning. Guide Tuna was with us the whole four days and he was fantastic, always checking everyone was ok and explaining everything with so much passion.

Covered so much ground in just 4 days and every single stop was worth it. Gallipoli was very emotional, especially the Lone Pine cemetery. Troy was smaller than expected but the guide brought the Iliad stories right to the ruins we were standing in. Ephesus was massive and incredibly well preserved, the Library of Celsus was the standout. Pamukkale terraces were surreal, walking barefoot in warm thermal water on those white formations. Hotels were all good, especially the one in Kusadasi with the sea view. Every transfer and pickup was on time. Solid 4 day tour for history lovers.
