Day 2 ─

Full Pamukkale & Hierapolis Day from Kusadasi

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

07:30 - After breakfast, pick up from your hotel in Kusadasi/Selcuk and begin the road transfer to Pamukkale. The drive takes approximately 2.5 hours.

  • Pamukkale: Sunrise over Pamukkale turns the white travertine terraces a soft shade of gold before the day's visitors arrive. The hillside in Denizli province formed over millennia as warm mineral water slowly deposited calcium carbonate layer by layer. UNESCO placed both the terraces and the ruins of Hierapolis on its World Heritage list, recognizing a site where nature and ancient civilization met.
  • White Calcium Terraces: For over two thousand years, thermal water has been overflowing Pamukkale's natural ledges and building the white calcium terraces one thin mineral layer at a time. Ancient Romans bathed in the pools above and let the water flow freely downhill. Today, precise conservation management controls the flow to protect the travertine and ensure future generations see the same brilliant white hillside.
  • Hierapolis Ancient City: Built directly above Pamukkale's thermal springs, Hierapolis was designed from the start as a city of rest and healing. The Romans believed the mineral water could cure a range of ailments, and the city grew wealthy from the steady stream of visitors who came to take the waters. Walking the colonnaded main street today, flanked by fallen columns and carved marble facades, gives you a vivid sense of how prosperous this ancient spa town once was.
  • Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool: Few ancient bathing sites remain as atmospheric as Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool at Hierapolis, where 36-degree thermal water flows over submerged Roman marble that has been on the pool floor since an earthquake centuries ago. The combination of warm mineral water and genuine archaeological fragments makes this a memorable optional stop on any Pamukkale visit. Entry is paid on-site separately from the tour price, plan ahead and budget for it if this interests you. Swimming is not included in the tour price and is payable on-site.

16:00 - After the Pamukkale route ends, return to Kusadasi by road.

Overnight stay in Kusadasi/Selcuk.

Day 3 ─

Ephesus Guided Route & Bus to Canakkale

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

09:00 - After breakfast, transfer to the Ephesus tour meeting point.

  • Ephesus Ancient City: Ephesus sat on one of the most important trade routes in the ancient world, linking Rome to the riches of Asia Minor and beyond. That commercial energy is visible in the scale of the Agora, a massive open marketplace where goods from across the empire changed hands. Walking through it today, imagining merchants from Rome, Egypt, and Persia trading in the same space, gives the ancient city a vivid sense of purpose.
  • House of Virgin Mary: A small museum display inside the grounds of the House of Virgin Mary explains the site's history, from its rediscovery by Catholic missionaries in the 19th century to the papal visits that brought it international recognition. Reading through the timeline makes clear how recently this pilgrimage tradition was re-established after centuries of obscurity. The story of how a vision led to a formal Church site is fascinating in its own right.
  • Temple of Artemis: Construction of the final version of the Temple of Artemis was funded partly by Croesus of Lydia, the king famous for his legendary wealth, a detail that hints at the scale of investment the temple required and the political prestige it conferred on its patrons. Even kings competed to have their names associated with this wonder near Ephesus. The site near Selcuk today gives almost no hint of that ancient rivalry, which is what makes a guided explanation so valuable.

17:00 - After the tour, depart from Kusadasi toward Canakkale by intercity bus via Izmir. The journey takes around 7.5 hours and includes scheduled comfort breaks.

00:30 - Arrival at Canakkale Bus Station and transfer to your hotel.

Overnight stay in Canakkale.

Day 4 ─

Troy Ancient City & Gallipoli War Zones & Return to Istanbul

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

08:30 - After breakfast, pick up from your hotel in Canakkale and transfer to Troy.

  • Troy Ancient City: Visit the legendary archaeological site where Bronze Age settlement layers, city walls, gates, and ruins connect myth, archaeology, and the story of the Trojan War.
  • Trojan Horse Replica: See the symbolic wooden horse replica at Troy, a popular photo stop that recalls the famous legend of the Greeks entering the city by strategy.

Lunch is served after the Troy visit.

  • Beach Cemetery: The final resting place of many ANZAC soldiers, located just steps from the sea where they landed in 1915.
  • ANZAC Cove: The narrow beach where the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps made their landing under heavy fire.
  • Ari Burnu Cemetery: A peaceful cemetery with scenic sea views, holding many graves from the early days of the campaign.
  • ANZAC Commemorative Site: A symbolic area where annual dawn services are held, honoring all soldiers who fought here.
  • Respect to Mehmetcik Monument: A moving tribute to the Turkish soldiers who bravely defended their homeland during the campaign.
  • Lone Pine Australian Memorial: Commemorating Australian soldiers, this site includes trenches and a monument to fallen heroes.
  • Johnston's Jolly: Walk through preserved Turkish and Allied trenches that bring the brutal conditions of trench warfare to life.
  • Turkish 57th Infantry Regiment Cemetery: Dedicated to the regiment that fought to the last man during the initial landings.
  • The Nek: A narrow ridge where tragic charges took place; a symbolic location featured in history and film.
  • Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial: A high ridge offering dramatic views, where New Zealand forces made a valiant push in August 1915.

Around 17:00 - The guided tour ends.

Around 18:00 - Depart from Eceabat for Istanbul by bus after the Gallipoli route ends.

Around 22:00 - Arrival in Istanbul and transfer to your hotel or central drop-off point.

Your 4 Days Pamukkale, Ephesus, Troy, Gallipoli Tour from Istanbul ends after the final transfer.

Tour Overview

One Route, Four Completely Different Chapters

  • Pamukkale in full on day two covers the travertine terraces, Hierapolis, the Roman Theater, the Necropolis, the Temple of Apollo, and Cleopatra's Pool.
  • Ephesus on day three gives the route its classical Roman anchor with the Library of Celsus, the Amphitheatre, the Temple of Artemis, and the House of Virgin Mary.
  • Troy in the morning of day four transitions from Roman to Bronze Age: nine settlement layers, the Trojan Horse replica, ancient walls, and civic remains all in a single site.
  • Gallipoli in the afternoon of day four completes the historical arc with the peninsula's key ANZAC and Turkish memorial sites before the bus back to Istanbul.
  • Outbound domestic flight included so the journey south starts fast, and the return from Gallipoli runs overland to close the full west-to-north circuit.

These four destinations also run in the reverse direction starting from Gallipoli: see our 4 Days Gallipoli, Troy, Pamukkale, and Ephesus Tour for the alternative routing.
To add Cappadocia's valleys and caves to this western Turkey circuit, our 5-day Turkey tour covers all five regions in five days.

Packed but worth every minute. Four completely different experiences in four days. Pamukkale for nature, Ephesus for ancient Rome, Troy for Homer, Gallipoli for ANZAC history. As an Australian the Gallipoli part was personaly meaningful, standing at ANZAC Cove and Lone Pine. The whole route goes from south to north ending back in Istanbul which is smart routing. All meals transport and entries included. Definetly reccomend.
