Tour Overview

Three regions, three days, zero wasted hours. Fly from Istanbul to walk the calcium terraces of Pamukkale, explore the 25,000-seat Great Theatre at Ephesus, and finish among Cappadocia's fairy chimneys. Each morning opens in a different part of Turkey, so the scenery never repeats and every day delivers a completely new landscape.

Tour Itinerary

Fly to Denizli & Pamukkale Tour

Morning flight to Denizli, Pamukkale sightseeing, and evening transfer to Kusadasi for the first overnight stay.

  1. 04:00 - Pick up from your hotel and transfer to the airport.

The package begins with hotel pickup in Istanbul and a pre-arranged transfer to the departure airport. This keeps the first day focused on sightseeing instead of airport logistics.

Pickup time and airport may change.

  2. 06:10 - Flight from Istanbul to Denizli.

Your domestic flight brings you to the Pamukkale region early enough to begin touring on arrival. It is the fastest way to open the route from the western side of Turkey.

    Flight time may change.

  3. 07:25 - Arrival in Denizli and transfer to Pamukkale.

After landing, our local team meets you at the airport and transfers you directly toward Pamukkale. You start the route with the region itself rather than spending extra time in transit.

Arrival airport and time may change according to availability.

Pamukkale Touring RouteExpand briefing

Pamukkale → White Calcium Terraces → Hierapolis Ancient City → The Necropolis → Bath and Basilica → Frontinius Gate → Frontinius Street → Latrina → Northern Byzantine Gate → Fountain of the Tritons → The Temple of Apollon → Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool

Briefing

  • Pamukkale: Calcium carbonate deposits have been building here for at least fourteen thousand years, creating one of Turkey's most extraordinary landscapes.

  • White Calcium Terraces: Restoration teams carefully manage water flow across the terraces to keep the calcium deposits growing and the pools filled throughout the year.

  • Hierapolis Ancient City: Saint Philip the Apostle was martyred at Hierapolis, and his martyrium still stands on a hill above the ancient city.

  • The Necropolis: Many sarcophagi at the Hierapolis Necropolis remain in their original positions on the ground, giving the site an untouched, almost eerie quality.

  • Bath and Basilica: Standing inside the ruins of the Bath and Basilica today, you can clearly see where walls were modified when the building changed from a bath to a church.

  • Frontinius Gate: Restoration work has stabilized the gate piers and reconnected some of the fallen stones, making it easier to read the original three-bay design from a distance.

  • Frontinius Street: Frontinius Street connected all the major public buildings of Hierapolis: the baths, the temples, the agora, and the theater were all reachable from this central axis.

  • Latrina: The latrina at Hierapolis is one of the best-preserved examples of Roman sanitation engineering in all of western Turkey, and it gives context to the wider city infrastructure.

  • Northern Byzantine Gate: Hierapolis continued to function as a settlement well into the Byzantine period, and the northern gate represents how the city adapted its infrastructure across centuries.

  • Fountain of the Tritons: Triton figures in classical art were usually depicted from the waist up as human and below as fish, a detail that the Hierapolis craftsmen rendered clearly in the stone.

  • The Temple of Apollon: Hierapolis excavations around the Apollon temple have uncovered ritual objects, votive deposits, and architectural fragments that help reconstruct the original building plan.

  • Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool: Historical accounts suggest Cleopatra bathed in these thermal springs during her time in the eastern Mediterranean, whether true or not, the pool now bears her name, and swimming access is purchased on-site separately (swimming is payable on-site).

  1. 16:00 - Transfer from Pamukkale to your hotel in Kusadasi.

After the Pamukkale program ends, you continue by road to Kusadasi for the night. This positioning makes the next day's Ephesus visit easier and more efficient.

Ephesus Tour & Flight to Cappadocia

Morning Ephesus touring from Kusadasi, evening flight to Cappadocia, and overnight in the region.

  1. 08:30 - Pick up from your hotel in Kusadasi for the Ephesus route.

After breakfast, you leave the Aegean hotel and continue toward one of Turkey's best-known ancient city visits. The day is structured to balance archaeology with the evening flight eastward.

Pickup time may vary slightly based on your hotel location.

Ephesus Ancient City Touring RouteExpand briefing

Ephesus Ancient City → Marble Streets → The Odeon → The Agora → The Temple of Hadrian → The Monumental Fountains → The Library of Celsus → The Great Amphitheatre → The Roman Baths → House of Virgin Mary → Temple of Artemis

Briefing

  • Ephesus Ancient City: Explorers and historians have called Ephesus the crown jewel of Turkey's ancient archaeological sites.

  • Marble Streets: Columns and colonnaded walkways once shaded shoppers as they moved along Ephesus's busy commercial streets.

  • The Odeon: Much smaller than a standard amphitheater, the Odeon in Ephesus feels personal and surprisingly well-preserved.

  • The Agora: Walking through the agora ruins, you can trace the stoa foundations where hundreds of small shops once operated.

  • The Temple of Hadrian: Curetes Street in Ephesus runs directly past the Temple of Hadrian, placing it on the city's main processional route.

  • The Monumental Fountains: Bases of statues that once flanked Ephesus's Trajan Fountain still show the carved feet and drapery of the original figures.

  • The Library of Celsus: Austrian archaeologists spent years reconstructing the Library of Celsus from scattered marble fragments in the 1970s.

  • The Great Amphitheatre: Standing on the stage of Ephesus's Great Theatre and facing 25,000 empty seats is one of Turkey's most powerful travel moments.

  • The Roman Baths: Roman physicians in Ephesus prescribed regular bathing as medical treatment, and the city's baths stood adjacent to medical buildings.

  • House of Virgin Mary: Water springs beside the chapel of Mary near Ephesus are believed by pilgrims to have healing properties, drawing visitors year-round.

  • Temple of Artemis: Herostatus burned the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus in 356 BC seeking fame, the night, legend says, Alexander the Great was born.

  1. 16:00 - Transfer to Izmir Airport after the tour.

After the Ephesus tour, you continue to Izmir Airport for the evening flight to Cappadocia.

  2. 19:30 - Flight from Izmir to Cappadocia.

You continue to Cappadocia by evening flight so the final day starts inside the region.

Flight time may change. If a direct flight is available, we will use it; otherwise you will fly via Istanbul.

    • 20:55 - Arrival in Cappadocia and hotel transfer.

Our local representative meets you after landing and arranges the transfer to your hotel in Cappadocia.

Arrival airport and time may change according to availability.

Three days three flights three world class destinations. Pamukkale with the calcium terraces and Hierapolis, Ephesus with the Roman library and amphitheatre, Cappadocia with the fairy chimneys and cave hotel. Each day was completely unique. The pace is fast but the domestic flights are short so you maximise your time at each site. Guide Deniz was excellent and the logistics were flawless. If you only have 3 days outside Istanbul this is the move.

Short on time this is the tour. Pamukkale day 1 was stunning, Hierapolis ruins were a bonus I didnt expect. Ephesus day 2 was the history highlight, House of Virgin Mary was a peaceful surprise. Cappadocia day 3 for the Red Tour with 6 stops and a cave hotel night. Three domestic flights included. Guide Emre was excellent at all three sites. Very well coordinated.
