Tour Overview

This 7-day itinerary is built for travelers who want a more distinctive Turkey tour from Istanbul: start with two full Cappadocia routes, continue to Mount Nemrut and the Commagene heritage around Adiyaman, then fly west for Ephesus and Pamukkale.

The route keeps the first day in Cappadocia active, uses flights where they make sense, and ends with a return transfer to your Istanbul hotel.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 ─

Fly to Cappadocia & Red Route

Meal: Lunch

04:00 - Pick up from your Istanbul hotel and transfer to the airport. (Pick-up time may change according to your flight and hotel location.)

07:20 - Flight from Istanbul to Cappadocia. (Flight time and airport may change according to season, airline schedule, and operational availability.)

09:00 - Arrival, airport welcome, and transfer to the Cappadocia Red Route. (Arrival airport and arrival time can change.)

  • Devrent Valley: Devrent is known for imaginative volcanic rock shapes that look like animals and figures. It is a light but memorable first look at how erosion shaped Cappadocia into a natural sculpture field.
  • Pasabag: Pasabag is one of the best places to see Cappadocia's famous fairy chimneys, including dramatic multi-capped formations connected with early hermit traditions in the region.
  • Avanos Pottery Workshop: Avanos stands beside the Red River, whose clay has supported pottery production for thousands of years. A workshop visit links the landscape with a craft tradition that is still alive.
  • Zelve Open Air Museum: Zelve was once a cave village and monastic settlement spread through several valleys. Its abandoned homes, churches, passages, and tunnels show how deeply local life adapted to soft volcanic rock.
  • Goreme panoramic view: The Goreme viewpoint gives a wide visual summary of central Cappadocia, with valleys, cave dwellings, and volcanic forms opening below in one continuous panorama.
  • Uchisar Castle exterior view: Uchisar Castle rises above the region as a natural rock citadel. From the outside, it helps explain why this high point became a landmark for both settlement and defense.

16:30 - The tour ends and we will transfer you to your hotel for a leisure evening.

Overnight stay in Cappadocia.

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

09:30 - Pick up from your hotel for the south Cappadocia route.

  • Rose Valley: Rose Valley is known for warm pink and red tones created by mineral layers in the volcanic rock. The valley also hides cave rooms, old paths, and small churches carved into the slopes.
  • Underground City: The underground city reveals a hidden Cappadocia built below the surface, with tunnels, storage rooms, ventilation shafts, and defensive stone doors designed for protection during unstable periods.
  • Pigeon Valley: Pigeon Valley is lined with dovecotes carved into the cliffs, once used to collect fertilizer for vineyards. The viewpoints also give broad looks toward Uchisar and the surrounding valleys.
  • Gulludere Valley: Gulludere, also called Rose Valley in many routes, combines soft-colored rock formations with cave churches, vineyards, and walking paths that show the quieter side of Cappadocia.
  • Cavusin Village: Cavusin is an old rock-cut settlement where cave houses and churches climb the cliff face. It shows how village life once blended directly into the stone.

16:30 - The tour ends and we will transfer you to your hotel for a leisure evening.

Overnight stay in Cappadocia.

Day 3 ─

Drive from Cappadocia to Adiyaman

Meal: Breakfast

After breakfast and check-out, your driver will meet you at the hotel and you will travel by private transfer toward Adiyaman or Kahta. This is a driver-only transfer without a guiding service. The journey takes about 7 hours, with scenic road sections and 1-2 comfort stops on the way so the day feels steady rather than rushed.

Overnight stay in Adiyaman/Kahta.

Day 4 ─

Mount Nemrut and the Ancient Ruins of Kommagene Kingdom

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

09:30 am - Breakfast at the hotel and the tour departs from your hotel.

  • Karakus Tumulus: Karakus Tumulus is a royal burial mound from the Commagene period, marked by surviving columns and animal sculptures. It introduces the dynastic world behind Mount Nemrut.
  • Arsemia Ancient City: Arsemia was a royal sanctuary and summer capital connected with the Commagene kings. Its inscriptions, reliefs, and hillside setting give important context before the Nemrut summit.
  • Cendere Bridge: Cendere Bridge is a remarkably preserved Roman bridge built with massive stone blocks over the ancient river gorge. It shows the engineering strength of the region after the Commagene era.
  • Mount Nemrut: Mount Nemrut is reached by a mountain approach and a final uphill walk to the summit terraces. The colossal heads, royal tomb sanctuary, and high-altitude views make the site feel both archaeological and ceremonial.

After the tour, drive back to your Adiyaman hotel for check-in.

Overnight stay in Adiyaman.

Day 5 ─

Fly from Adiyaman to Izmir

Meal: Breakfast

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out from your room. According to your flight time, we will transfer you to Adiyaman Airport.

Your flight will be either via Istanbul or Ankara, because there is no direct flight between Adiyaman and Izmir. The best Istanbul- or Ankara-connected flight will be arranged.

Upon your arrival at Izmir Airport, we will welcome you at the exit and transfer you to your hotel in Kusadasi/Selcuk.

Overnight stay in Kusadasi/Selcuk.

Day 6 ─

Ephesus Ancient City Tour

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

08:45 - Pick up from your hotel in Kusadasi/Selcuk and transfer to Ephesus.

  • Ephesus Ancient City: Ephesus is one of the best-preserved classical cities in the eastern Mediterranean. Walking its marble streets brings together the library area, theater, agora, fountains, temples, and daily urban spaces of a major Roman city.
  • House of Virgin Mary: The House of Virgin Mary is a peaceful hillside sanctuary above Ephesus, visited for its spiritual tradition and quiet atmosphere away from the scale of the ancient city.
  • Temple of Artemis: The Temple of Artemis was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Only traces remain today, but the stop completes the sacred landscape that made Ephesus famous far beyond its city walls.

16:00 - Return transfer to your hotel in Kusadasi/Selcuk.

Overnight stay in Kusadasi/Selcuk.

Day 7 ─

Pamukkale Tour & Fly to Istanbul

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

07:30 - After breakfast and check-out, depart from Kusadasi/Selcuk to Pamukkale.

  • Pamukkale Travertines: Pamukkale Travertines are bright white mineral terraces formed by thermal water flowing down the hillside. Walking along the terraces gives the day its most iconic natural view.
  • Hierapolis Ancient City: Hierapolis was a Roman spa city built above the thermal springs, with a theater, streets, gates, baths, and sacred areas that show how healing water shaped urban life.
  • Cleopatra Antique Pool: The Cleopatra Antique Pool area can be seen during the visit, with warm thermal water and fallen ancient columns inside the pool. Swimming is optional and paid locally.

16:00 - Transfer to Denizli Airport.

19:30 - Flight to Istanbul. (Flight time and airport may change according to season, airline schedule, and operational availability.)

20:20 - Arrival in Istanbul and transfer to your hotel. (Arrival airport can be one of the two airports in Istanbul and timing can be different.)

The 7 Days Cappadocia, Mount Nemrut, Ephesus and Pamukkale Tour from Istanbul ends after hotel drop-off in Istanbul.

Tour Overview

Why this 7-day Turkey combination is useful

  • Distinctive mix: Cappadocia landscapes, Mount Nemrut heritage, Ephesus ruins, and Pamukkale terraces are combined in one route.
  • Adiyaman-based Nemrut routing: The Nemrut section stays focused on Adiyaman and the ancient Commagene sites, avoiding unnecessary backtracking before the westbound flight.
  • Efficient westbound flight: Because there is no direct Adiyaman-Izmir flight, the best available Istanbul- or Ankara-connected option is arranged.
  • Strong archaeology balance: The route moves from volcanic Cappadocia settlements to royal mountain monuments, then finishes with two of western Turkey's most important classical and natural sites.
  • Practical pace for one week: Long transfers are placed where they make sense, while guided sightseeing days still have clear starts, endings, and hotel returns.
  • Closest related route: For a similar heritage angle, see the 7 Days Mount Nemrut, Gobeklitepe, Ephesus and Pamukkale Tour.
