Didnt even know you could ski in Turkey until I found this tour. Erciyes Mountain is a proper ski resort with modern lifts and well groomed runs. The snow was great when we went in February and the slopes were way less crowded than European resorts. The views from the top of Mt Erciyes are insane, you can see all of Cappadocia spread out below. The tour handled everything, pickup from our hotel in Goreme, equipment rental, lift passes. Guide Emre was helpful with tips for the runs. Such a cool way to add something diffrent to a Cappadocia trip.

The beginner slopes at Erciyes were perfect for me since I hadnt skied in years. Wide, well groomed, not too steep, and the snow conditions were fantastic, soft fresh powder that was really forgiving on my rusty technique. My husband who's an advanced skier had plenty of challenging runs to choose from higher up the mountain. The views from the gondola going up were incredible, you can see the volcanic peak above and the flat Cappadocian plateau stretching out below with the fairy chimneys in the hazy distance. Equipment rental was included and the gear was modern and well maintained. Guide Tuna picked us up from our cave hotel in Goreme at 8am and we were on the slopes by 9:30. Full day of skiing, back at the hotel by 5pm. Such a unique addition to our Cappadocia trip.

Came to Turkey for Cappadocia sightseeing and ended up skiing too?? The best surprise of the trip. Erciyes had fresh powder when we went in late January and the resort was not busy at all compared to what Im used to in Norway. Rented boots and skis at the base lodge, quality was fine. The views from the top lifts were stunning, snowy peaks and plains in every direction. The transfer from Goreme took about 75 minutes. Perfect add on to a winter Cappadocia visit.

Cappadocia fairy chimneys one day, skiing at Erciyes the next. What a combo. The mountain is about an hour from Goreme and its a legit ski resort. Modern lifts, well groomed slopes, and the snow was great in January. I rented equipment there, it was decent quality. The drive back through the snowy landscape with fairy chimneys in the distance was a bonus. If your in Cappadocia during winter definetly add this.
