Meal: Breakfast & Lunch
09:30 - Pick up from your hotel in Cappadocia for the first full sightseeing day.
- Devrent Valley: Devrent Valley is Cappadocia's purest natural landscape, entirely free of man-made structures, churches, or carved rooms. What remains is raw geological artistry: pale pink and cream columns rising from a valley floor swept clean by centuries of wind.
- Pasabag Open Air Museum: Monks at Pasabag were not a community in the conventional sense but individual hermits who valued isolation above all else. Each carved cell was meant to be lived in alone, which explains why the doorways are so small and the interior spaces so deliberately minimal.
- Avanos Pottery Workshop: Avanos workshops typically allocate separate areas for the demonstration, the hands-on session, and the showroom, so you can move between them without feeling rushed in any one space. The showroom visit is entirely optional and carries no purchasing pressure from the workshop staff.
- Goreme Panoramic View: Looking northeast from Goreme Panoramic View, you can see the rough outline of Zelve valley on the far side of the plateau, the next major stop on the Red Tour route. That visual preview of what is coming next is a small but satisfying element of the itinerary's geographic logic.
- Zelve Open Air Museum: Zelve Open Air Museum sits within the Goreme National Park's UNESCO World Heritage boundaries, but it is less visited than other museum sites in the region and typically offers a quieter experience. Travelers who visit both sites on the same day consistently describe Zelve as the more emotionally affecting of the two.
- Uchisar Castle (exterior view): Uchisar Castle is connected to the wider Cappadocia underground tunnel network, and some of its interior passages reportedly link to cave systems that extend toward Goreme valley. Your guide can explain the tunnel network's extent during the exterior stop without needing to enter the castle itself.
17:00 - Transfer back to your hotel.

South Cappadocia Tour & Board the Night Intercity Bus
Meal: Breakfast & Lunch
09:30 - Pick up from your hotel in Cappadocia for the first full sightseeing day after hotel check-out and breakfast at the hotel.
- Red Valley: Volcanic eruptions millions of years ago deposited thick layers of ash across Cappadocia, and Red Valley is where wind and rain sculpted those layers into their most dramatic forms. Walk the trail between towering orange and rust-red pillars and you will understand why this is one of the region's most photographed landscapes.
- Rose Valley (Gulludere Valley): Fruit trees grow in surprising abundance along Rose Valley's lower trail, remnants of orchards planted by communities who farmed the valley floor for centuries alongside their cliff dwellings. In late summer, ripe fruit falls onto the path, and the scent of apricots and grapes mixes with the dry mineral smell of the rock walls above.
- Cavusin Village: Cavusin sits within five minutes' drive of both Goreme and Rose Valley, making it a natural midpoint stop between Cappadocia's most visited heritage sites. Its position on the Yellow Tour route ensures it receives a steady stream of visitors, though the village itself never feels as crowded as the more famous open air museums.
- Pigeon Valley: Cappadocia's agricultural landscape depended on Pigeon Valley-style dovecotes throughout the medieval period, and their concentration here reflects how central this canyon was to the regional farming economy. Researchers studying Cappadocia's land use history use the distribution of carved pigeon houses to map patterns of agricultural settlement across the valley system.
- Underground City: Cappadocia's underground city was not a simple bunker but a functioning community space, with carved rooms designated for sleeping, food storage, wine production, animal shelter, and religious worship. A small chapel cut into one of the deeper levels confirms that residents maintained their religious life even when hidden beneath the earth under threat of invasion.
17:00 - Transfer to the bus station after the tour.
19:00 - Board the overnight intercity bus to Pamukkale. (Departure time may change depending on availability and travel date.)
Overnight intercity bus to Pamukkale. The bus journey takes approximately 10 hours.
Arrive in Pamukkale and Pamukkale Day Tour
Meal: Breakfast & Lunch
Morning arrival in Pamukkale and transfer to a freshening-up room. Short break for breakfast and shower.
09:30 am - Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and you will start the tour.
- Pamukkale: Pamukkale's hillside looks like a staircase built for giants, each wide step filled with warm turquoise water. Calcium carbonate from thermal springs has been depositing here for over two millennia, building up the smooth white travertine surfaces step by step. The UNESCO World Heritage Site in Denizli pairs this geological spectacle with the extensive ancient ruins of Hierapolis just above.
- White Calcium Terraces: An afternoon on Pamukkale's white calcium terraces moves at its own pace. You wade slowly from pool to pool, each one slightly different in depth and mineral texture. Two thousand years of thermal activity shaped every ledge underfoot, and the warm water flowing around your feet carries the same minerals today that turned this hillside white in ancient times.
- Hierapolis Ancient City: Hierapolis at its peak may have housed as many as 100,000 people, making it a large city by ancient standards. The thermal springs fueled an economy built on healing tourism, textile production, and trade along the major Anatolian road network. Most of the visible ruins above Pamukkale date from the Roman imperial period, though the city continued under Byzantine rule for several more centuries after Rome fell.
- Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool: Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool sits within the Hierapolis ruins and offers a direct physical connection to the ancient thermal bathing culture that made Pamukkale famous. Water flows at 36 degrees Celsius, warm enough to be comfortable in any month, with dissolved minerals that feel noticeably silky on your skin. Entry is paid at the pool on the day and is not part of the tour price, decide in advance whether this optional experience fits your plans. Swimming is not included in the tour price and is payable on-site.
Around 16:00 - Transfer to Kusadasi/Selcuk after the Pamukkale tour.
Overnight stay in Kusadasi/Selcuk
Finish in Ephesus and Fly to Istanbul
Meal: Breakfast & Lunch
09:00 - Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the tour area.
- Ephesus Ancient City: Admission to Ephesus includes access to multiple distinct sections of the ancient city, giving a full picture of Roman civic life from administrative buildings near the upper gate to commercial areas near the harbor. The variety means no two visitors have exactly the same experience, photographers gravitate to different corners than historians, and both leave satisfied. A guided tour helps you prioritize without missing the essentials.
- House of Virgin Mary: Outside the stone chapel on Bulbul Mountain, a long wishing wall draws visitors from every background. People tie notes, ribbons, and small tokens to a wire fence as personal prayers and wishes, creating a moving collective expression of hope. Even travelers with no religious connection often pause here longer than they expected.
- Temple of Artemis: At its peak, the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus attracted merchants, pilgrims, and tourists from across the ancient Mediterranean, making it one of the earliest examples of religious tourism in history. Silver craftsmen in the nearby city made their living selling miniature replicas of the temple to visitors, a trade that brought them into direct conflict with the Apostle Paul when he preached against idol worship in Ephesus. That story, recorded in the Bible, gives this patch of marshy ground near Selcuk an unexpected layer of meaning.
Around 16:00 - Transfer to the airport after the Ephesus tour.
20:15 - Flight from Izmir to Istanbul. (Flight time may change.)
21:30 - Arrival in Istanbul. (Arrival airport and time may change according to availability.)

Five days hitting the three best spots in Turkey outside Istanbul. Cappadocia fairy chimneys blew my mind, Pamukkale white terraces were surreal, and Ephesus ruins were incredible. Guide Tuna made it all flow perfectly. The balloon ride in Cappadocia at sunrise was the best thing ive ever done. Pamukkale thermal pools were so relaxing after all the walking. And Ephesus - I had no idea how massive and well preserved it is. The Library of Celsus is stunning. Hotels were all really nice. Loved the cave hotel in Cappadocia especially. Flights between cities saved so much time. 10/10 trip.

Five days three regions and every single one was amazing. Having two full Cappadocia tour days means you see both the north and south routes which are completley different from each other. The north has fairy chimneys and Zelve caves, the south has Rose Valley and the underground city. Pamukkale terraces were like walking on warm clouds. Ephesus was pure Roman grandeur. The cave hotel in Goreme was the coolest place ive ever slept. This 5 day version is the sweet spot.
