Tour Overview

Behind the resort strip, Antalya holds a city with over two thousand years of continuous life. A guided Antalya Old City tour walks you through the Ottoman lanes of Kaleici, past two waterfalls that spill toward the Mediterranean, and onto a boat for a scenic harbor cruise along the limestone cliffs. Seven hours, one driver, no planning needed.

Tour Itinerary

Kaleici, Coast, Waterfalls & Harbor Boat

Hotel pickup, panoramic boat, two waterfall stops, Kaleici guided walk, harbor boat ride, and return transfer.

  1. 09:00 - Pick up from your hotel in Antalya.

Our team will collect you from your centrally located Antalya hotel and begin the city route in the morning. Starting with hotel pickup keeps the day simple for first-time visitors who do not know the city layout yet. It also helps the itinerary cover several very different areas without extra transport planning on your side.

Pickup time may vary slightly based on your hotel location.

  2. Midday - Lunch at a local restaurant.

A lunch break is included during the route, giving the day a natural pause between the city and nature sections. This stop matters because the itinerary covers several areas and stays more comfortable with a proper meal built in. It also keeps the excursion practical for travelers who want an all-in-one day without arranging food separately.

Briefing

  • Panoramic Boat: The route opens with a panoramic boat experience that gives Antalya's coastline an immediate visual frame from the water. Seeing the cliffs, harbor area, and city edge from the sea helps place the rest of the day in context before the waterfall and old city sections begin.

  • Duden Waterfall: Duden Waterfall brings the first real shift in atmosphere, from the open viewpoint to a shaded, green setting where the water falls through a carved rock channel before spreading toward the sea. The site is accessible, photogenic, and genuinely refreshing during summer heat, which makes it more than a scenic pause. It also helps explain how Antalya's dramatic cliff landscape connects with the inland water systems feeding the coast.

  • Karpuzkaldiran Waterfall: Karpuzkaldiran Waterfall stands apart from the first waterfall stop because here the flow drops directly over the cliff face straight into the Mediterranean below. That sea-facing plunge makes the scene dramatically different from a park waterfall and gives the coastline one of its most photographed moments. Standing at the viewpoint also shows how the entire limestone cliff system runs along Antalya's shoreline in a continuous dramatic wall.

  • Kaleici and Hadrian's Gate: Kaleici is the old quarter where two thousand years of Antalya's history can be read in a single short walk. Roman walls from the second century, Ottoman timber houses leaning over cobblestone lanes, and the monumental triple arch of Hadrian's Gate all occupy the same compact neighborhood. Walking here slows the day's pace in exactly the right way, shifting from waterfall viewpoints to the kind of intimate urban history that makes the city feel genuinely ancient.

  • Old Harbor Boat Tour: The harbor boat tour provides the day's final and perhaps most unexpected perspective by showing Antalya from the sea level, looking back toward the cliff-top walls and towers of Kaleici. That maritime vantage point turns a city you have just walked through into a layered coastal fortress, visible all at once from the water. The boat also passes the Roman harbor walls, which helps put the entire day's sightseeing into one clear geographical frame.

  1. 17:00 - Return transfer to your hotel.

At the end of the city route, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Antalya. Hotel drop-offs may continue slightly beyond the listed end time depending on the order of the route. Your Antalya Old City Tour ends with the hotel return.

Tour Overview

What Sets the Antalya Old City Tour Apart?

  • Kaleici is one of Turkey's best-preserved historical quarters, where Roman walls, Ottoman mansions, and Byzantine foundations still stand in the same narrow lanes.
  • Two waterfall stops add a natural counterpoint to the urban sections, giving the day a satisfying rhythm between stone architecture and open landscape.
  • The harbor boat section reframes the entire city by showing Antalya from the sea, where the cliffs and old walls form a skyline almost nobody sees on foot.
  • Hadrian's Gate marks the ceremonial Roman entrance to the old city and remains one of the clearest examples of ancient civic pride still standing in the region.
  • Lunch, guide, and hotel transfers are all handled, so the day works smoothly for first-time visitors without any separate logistics to manage.

For travelers who want to keep exploring after this historic Antalya day, the Demre, Myra and Kekova city tour follows the Lycian coast east, while the Antalya to Pamukkale day trip heads inland to the white terraces.

Hadrians Gate carvings are so detailed you can see individual faces and flowers in the stone after nearly 2000 years. Our guide Selim pointed out restored sections versus original Roman work which was fasinating. Then walking through Kaleici was like a living museum, every building has a story. The harbor overlook was the photo highlight of our Antalya trip. The Duden waterfall crashing into the sea was a dramatic finish to the morning. Really glad we did this tour on day one.

Did this on our first morning in Antalya and it was the best decision. The guide showed us all the highlights of Kaleici and gave us recommendations for restaurants and shops for the rest of our stay. Hadrians Gate carvings are so detailed its hard to believe its almost 2000 years old. The old harbor is gorgoeus with turquoise water against the stone walls. The waterfall was a lovely suprise. Back at the hotel by lunchtime. Perfect half day activity.
