Day 3 ─

Half Day Guided Old City Tour

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

08:30 - Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Sultanahmet.

  • Hagia Sophia: One of the most visited monuments on Earth, Hagia Sophia served as a cathedral, an imperial mosque, and today a mosque once again. Its vast dome and layered history from Byzantine to Ottoman periods make it the clearest symbol of Istanbul's civilizational depth.
  • Blue Mosque: The Sultan Ahmed Mosque earns its popular name from the hand-painted Iznik tiles lining its interior, more than 20,000 of them covering the walls in blue and white floral patterns. The six minarets rising above Sultanahmet square are one of Istanbul's defining silhouettes.
  • Hippodrome: For centuries the social center of Byzantine Constantinople, the Hippodrome once hosted chariot races and public celebrations for up to 100,000 spectators. The Egyptian Obelisk and the Serpent Column still stand as original monuments on its ancient spine.
  • Grand Bazaar: One of the oldest covered markets in the world, the Grand Bazaar spreads across 61 streets and more than 4,000 shops selling everything from carpets and ceramics to gold and spices. Even without buying anything, the labyrinthine atmosphere is a landmark experience in itself.

Around 12:30 - The tour ends at Grand Bazaar. You can do some more shopping, enjoy a traditional lunch there, and make your own way back to your hotel.

Overnight stay in Istanbul.

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

09:30 - Pick up from your hotel.

  • Devrent Valley (Pink Valley): Devrent Valley's open plateau gives you a physical sense of Cappadocia's volcanic origin that enclosed valleys and cave sites do not quite deliver. Seeing the columns arranged across a broad landscape, rather than pressed into a narrow gorge, makes the geological story easier to read.
  • Pasabag Open Air Museum: Pasabag translates roughly as 'the pasha's vineyard,' a reference to a time when the valley floor between the chimneys was used for cultivation. No vines remain today, but the name is a reminder that even this dramatic landscape was once put to practical agricultural use.
  • Avanos Pottery Workshop: Pottery in Avanos is not a performance staged for tourists but a daily commercial practice, with workshops producing pieces sold to artisan markets across Turkey. Visiting during a working day means the demonstration you see is genuine, not adapted for an audience.
  • Goreme Panoramic View: In winter, snow occasionally covers Goreme valley's fairy chimneys while the sky remains clear, and Goreme Panoramic View delivers that scene with an immediacy and completeness that makes it one of Cappadocia's most sought-after seasonal photographs. Off-season travelers who catch that window describe it consistently as a highlight.
  • Zelve Open Air Museum: Zelve's site path includes a marked route that covers all three valleys, but the signs also indicate optional extensions for visitors who want to explore beyond the main circuit. Your guide will tell you which extensions are worth taking given the time available in the Red Tour schedule.
  • Uchisar Castle (exterior view): Ending the Cappadocia Red Tour at Uchisar Castle leaves visitors with a single dominant image from the day: the tallest rock in the region, covered in centuries of human carving, standing above a valley that has been shaped by geology and habitation in equal measure. As a closing image for a Cappadocia day, it is difficult to improve on.

17:00 - Transfer back to your hotel after the tour.

Overnight stay in Cappadocia.

Day 6 ─

Cappadocia Yellow Tour

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

09:30 - Pick up from your hotel for the second Cappadocia touring day.

  • Red Valley: Walking Red Valley's trail from north to south, you descend gradually into the valley floor before climbing back up to the rim at the far end. The route passes several large natural arches and undercut cliff bases where erosion has hollowed out the lower rock to create overhanging shelves.
  • Rose Valley (Gulludere Valley): Gulludere Valley is narrower and more intimate than Cappadocia's wider canyon landscapes, making it well-suited to a walking pace rather than a drive-by visit. Its scale is human rather than monumental, with carved churches, carved homes, and carved dovecotes all within touching distance of the trail.
  • Cavusin Village: Cavusin's Church of Saint John the Baptist, cut into the highest accessible point of the cliff above the village, dates to the 5th century and contains some of Cappadocia's oldest surviving rock-cut architecture. Reaching the church requires a short climb through the abandoned upper village, passing carved homes and storage rooms on the way up.
  • Pigeon Valley: Pigeon Valley's trail is most rewarding during morning hours when sunlight enters the canyon from the east and illuminates the carved cliff faces on the western wall. As the sun rises higher and light floods the full canyon, the shadows that define the pigeon house openings flatten and the textured rock surface becomes less dramatic.
  • Underground City: A carved winery found in Cappadocia's underground city reveals that communities produced and stored wine underground, using carved troughs for pressing grapes and carved vessels for fermentation. Wine production underground served both cultural and practical purposes, allowing the community to maintain a central part of their social and religious life even during long periods of concealment.

17:00 - Transfer back to your hotel after the tour.

Overnight stay in Cappadocia.

Day 7 ─

Cappadocia Green Tour

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

09:00 - Pick up from your hotel for the third and final Cappadocia touring day.

  • Esentepe Panorama Point: The Esentepe viewpoint sits above the broader Cappadocian plateau and offers one of the widest unobstructed views of the entire volcanic landscape, a fitting opening for a day that moves through the region's deepest and most dramatic terrain.
  • Underground City: Cappadocia's southern underground cities reach deeper than those in the north, with some descending eight storeys and containing entire communities of living quarters, stables, kitchens, and churches carved into volcanic tufa. The engineering logic of ventilation shafts, cisterns, and rolling stone doors is still visible throughout the corridors.
  • Ihlara Valley: Carved by the Melendiz River over millions of years, Ihlara Valley cuts thirty kilometers through the volcanic plateau with sheer walls rising up to 150 meters on both sides. The walking trail passes dozens of rock-carved Byzantine churches with frescoes that date back to the ninth and tenth centuries.
  • Belisirma Village: Tucked inside the Ihlara gorge, Belisirma is a small riverside settlement where lunch is served under terrace canopies beside the running water, one of the most distinctive midday stops on any Cappadocia program. The village has changed little in character over generations, with stone houses and old mulberry trees framing the gorge path.
  • Yaprakhisar Panorama: The drive out of the Ihlara area passes the Yaprakhisar viewpoint, where a dramatic cluster of volcanic rock spires rises above a flat plain in one of the least-photographed but most visually striking panoramas in the region. It's a quiet final frame for the three-day Cappadocia chapter.

17:30 - Transfer back to your hotel after the tour.

Overnight stay in Cappadocia.

Day 8 ─

Meal: Breakfast

Overnight stay in Kusadasi/Selcuk.

Day 9 ─

Pamukkale & Hierapolis Full Day

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

07:15 - Pick up from your hotel for the full-day drive to Pamukkale.

  • Pamukkale: Before you look at the ruins, take a moment to look at the hillside. Pamukkale's white travertine formation in Denizli province is one of the most visually striking natural features in Turkey, shaped over millennia by thermal springs carrying dissolved minerals. Every layer of rock you see represents hundreds of years of quiet, patient geology.
  • White Calcium Terraces: Nothing quite prepares you for the physical sensation of stepping onto Pamukkale's warm white calcium terraces for the first time. The travertine is smooth and warm, the water in each pool is body-temperature comfortable, and the view across the Denizli valley stretches for miles. These terraces formed over two millennia of slow mineral deposit and feel timeless in the best possible way.
  • Hierapolis Ancient City: Romans who came to Pamukkale for its thermal springs liked what they found so much that they built an entire city on top. Hierapolis was founded in the 2nd century BC and grew into a major Greco-Roman spa destination, its streets and monuments spreading across the hilltop above the white travertine terraces. Much of that city is still standing today, and walking through it is a genuine step back two thousand years.
  • Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool: Historical records cannot confirm that Cleopatra herself swam in this particular pool, but the thermal water here is Roman-era, the pool structure is ancient, and the submerged marble columns are genuine earthquake casualties. Warm mineral water at 36 degrees surrounds fragments of a Roman building that has been in the pool since the 7th century. Admission is an optional extra paid on-site, separate from the tour price. Swimming is not included in the tour price and is payable on-site.

16:00 - Transfer back to your hotel in Kusadasi/Selcuk after the tour.

Overnight stay in Kusadasi/Selcuk.

Day 10 ─

Ephesus Ancient City & Flight to Antalya

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

08:45 - Pick up from your hotel for the morning Ephesus program.

  • Ephesus Ancient City: Among all the monuments in Ephesus, the Great Theatre is the one that captures scale most powerfully, built into the slope of Panayir Hill, it could hold 25,000 spectators for plays, gladiatorial contests, and public assemblies. Looking out from the top rows, you can trace the outline of the ancient harbor road stretching toward what was once the Aegean Sea. That view alone is worth the climb.
  • House of Virgin Mary: Surrounded by pine forest on a mountain above Ephesus, the House of Virgin Mary feels set apart from the busy ancient city below in every possible way. Inside the small stone chapel, rows of candles flicker near an altar, and the scale of the space encourages reflection rather than sightseeing. Many visitors say this stop is the most emotionally affecting part of the entire Ephesus tour.
  • Temple of Artemis: Near Selcuk in western Turkey, the Temple of Artemis site sits on low, occasionally waterlogged ground that makes a strange contrast to its former glory. Archaeologists believe the marshy location was intentional, ancient builders chose ground near the coast specifically to associate the temple with the sea and with Artemis's domain as a nature deity. Reading the landscape that way, even the plain field around the lone column begins to make sense.

16:00 - The tour ends and we will drive you to Izmir Airport for your flight to Antalya Airport.

20:00 - Transfer to Izmir airport for your evening flight to Antalya. (Flight time may change.)

21:15 - Arrival in Antalya and transfer to your hotel. (Arrival time may change according to availability.)

Overnight stay in Antalya.

Day 11 ─

Free Day on the Antalya Coast

Meal: Breakfast

A full day is left open in Antalya for beach time, Kaleici walks, or personal plans.

Overnight stay in Antalya.

Day 12 ─

Perge, Aspendos, Side & Manavgat

Meal: Breakfast & Lunch

08:00 - Pick up from your hotel for the full archaeological day around Antalya.

  • Perge: Founded in the third century BC, Perge was one of the most prosperous cities of ancient Pamphylia and the starting point of St. Paul's first missionary journey into Anatolia. The colonnaded main street, the agora, and the stadium ruins still convey the scale of a city that once held 100,000 inhabitants.
  • Aspendos Ancient Theatre: Built in the second century AD, the Aspendos theatre is widely considered the best-preserved Roman theatre in the world, its stage building still stands to its original height with all architectural tiers intact. The theatre seats 15,000 and remains an active venue for summer opera and ballet festivals.
  • Side Ancient City: Set on a small peninsula on the Mediterranean coast, Side combines well-preserved Roman ruins with direct sea views and a working harbor town. The Temple of Apollo stands at the water's edge, its columns framing sunsets in one of the most photographed compositions on the Turkish coast.
  • Temple of Apollo: The Side Temple of Apollo consists of five standing Corinthian columns on a platform that projects almost directly over the sea, with the city's ancient agora and the ruins of the Temple of Athena nearby. It is one of the most photogenic ancient monuments in the Mediterranean.
  • Manavgat Waterfall: A short drive from Side, the Manavgat Waterfall is broad rather than tall, a wide cascade of the Manavgat River over a stepped limestone shelf, surrounded by tea gardens and shaded picnic areas. It offers a quiet natural counterpoint to the day's archaeological focus.

17:00 - Transfer back to your hotel in Antalya after the tour.

Overnight stay in Antalya.

Turkey has so much more than Istanbul and this tour proved it. 15 days covering Istanbul, Cappadocia, Bodrum, Ephesus, Pamukkale, Antalya and more. Every destination was completely different from the last. The Bodrum coast was stunning, Cappadocia was surreal, Ephesus was mind blowing for the history. All flights, hotels, and transfers included. The agency was always reachable and our local guides at each stop were all fantastic. If your debating between a short trip and a longer one, go longer. You wont regret it.
