Tour Overview

Fans of Dirilis: Ertugrul and Kurulus: Osman can walk through the actual filming location. The Ertugrul set tour from Istanbul brings you to Bozdag Film Plateau in Bilecik province for a guided walk through the Kayi encampment, historical street sets, a live sword performance, and an Ottoman-style lunch on location.

Tour Itinerary

Ertugrul & Osman Film Set Tour

Sultanahmet and Taksim meeting points, Bozdag Film Plateau visit, live show, themed lunch, photo time, and return to Istanbul.

  1. 09:00 - Meet at Sultanahmet and depart.

Guests joining from the old city meet at the Sultanahmet meeting point before the route continues toward Taksim.

Please reach the Sultanahmet meeting point on your own before departure time.

  2. 09:30 - Meet at Taksim Square and depart.

Guests joining from the Taksim area meet at the fixed meeting point in Taksim Square. Using shared departure points keeps the route simple, but it also means participants should arrive on time because hotel pickup is not part of the program.

Please reach your selected meeting point on your own before departure time.

  3. 10:30 - Arrival at Bozdag Film Plateau.

As the vehicle reaches the set area, the mood changes quickly from modern road trip to historical-studio immersion. The scale of the plateau is one of the reasons the visit works so well even for travelers who are not deep series specialists.

  4. 13:00 - Ottoman-style lunch break.

Lunch is built into the middle of the route so the visit does not feel rushed from one set corner to another. The themed meal also strengthens the immersive side of the day.

Beverages and extra purchases are personal expenses unless stated otherwise.

Briefing

  • Bozdag Film Plateau: Bozdag Film Plateau in Bilecik province is where both Dirilis: Ertugrul and Kurulus: Osman were filmed, and arriving here for the first time tends to surprise visitors with its scale. The production designers built an entire working historical environment rather than a collection of isolated props, and that full-world approach is immediately obvious when you step out of the vehicle. Whether you have seen every episode or only a handful, the physical reality of the location lands differently than any screenshot could suggest.

  • Kayi Tribe Encampment: The Kayi tent village is the part of the tour most fans have come specifically to see, and it tends to be where the group spends the longest stretches of free time. The tents, rugs, weapons, and camp furniture are the exact physical elements that built the visual language of the series, and being able to walk among them, rather than watch them on a screen, is the core fan-experience value of the whole day. Many guests describe this section as the moment the series stopped feeling like television and started feeling like a place.

  • Historical Set Streets and Bazaar: Beyond the encampment the tour continues into the constructed street sections, market stalls, and stone-facade buildings that appeared throughout both series as the towns and bazaars of early Ottoman Anatolia. The guide explains which structures were used for which scenes and how the production design team made decisions about period authenticity versus storytelling clarity. This section shows that Bozdag is genuinely a built world with interior logic, not a loose arrangement of backdrop pieces.

  • Live Sword Fight Show: The stunt performance is the day's most kinetic moment and gives the tour something that no photograph or rewatch can replicate: the physical speed, sound, and choreography of a live combat demonstration inspired directly by the series. The performers work with the same style of weapons and movements fans recognize from the screen, which gives the show a strong contextual connection rather than a generic medieval feel. It is consistently the section that stays most sharply in visitors' memories after the day ends.

  • Behind-the-Scenes Guided Walk: The guided commentary turns the visual experience into an informed one by explaining how specific scenes were shot, which set areas served multiple purposes across different seasons, and how the costume and prop departments approached period research. Without this layer, it is easy to walk through Bozdag enjoying the scenery but missing the production intelligence that makes it genuinely unusual as a filming location. Fans who have followed either series closely find that the guide consistently adds details they did not know from watching.

  • Free Photo Time on the Set: The free-time section is a deliberate part of the program rather than leftover schedule, because personal exploration, costume rental sessions, and souvenir shopping are distinct reasons many guests book this tour in the first place. There is no single right way to spend it, some guests return to the Kayi tents for better photos, others browse the on-site shop, and some simply sit in the set atmosphere before the drive back. Every guest can close the day in the way that feels most personally satisfying.

  1. 15:30 - Leave the set and return to Istanbul.

After the visit and free time are complete, the group boards the vehicle for the drive back. This closing road section gives everyone a chance to rest after a visually busy day.

  2. 17:00 - Arrival back in Istanbul.

The day ends in Istanbul after the shared return drive. Actual arrival can move slightly depending on road conditions, but the route is planned as a same-day outing from the city.

If you watch Ertugrul or Kurulus Osman you NEED to do this tour. Walking into the Kayi tribe camp felt so surreal, like I actually stepped into the show. The set streets and bazaar area looked exactly like on TV. We got to see costumes, props, and even watched a live sword fight show which was really cool. My kids were running around pretending to be Osman the whole time lol. The Bozdag film plateau is bigger then I expected and theres so much to see. Guide Can was a fan himself so he knew all the behind the scenes stories. Best day of our Istanbul trip hands down.
