Best transfer day I've ever done. Instead of just driving from Canakkale to Kusadasi we hit Troy and Pergamon along the way and arrived feeling like we had actually done something. Guide was knowlegable about both sites, gave us the right amount of context without lecturing. Lunch break was at a roadside place that turned out to be really good. Pergamon theater is dizzying when you look down from the top row. Loved it.

Smart way to combine two ancient cities instead of doing them separately. Picked up at our Canakkale hotel at 8:30 and dropped off in Kusadasi just past 8pm. Troy was smaller than I expected honestly, the replica horse is iconic but the actual ruins are more layered than visual. Pergamon though, Pergamon was the showstopper. The acropolis on the hill with that ancient theater carved into the slope is unreal. Asclepion healing center had me wishing I had more time. Long day but a productive one.
