Day 1 ─

Drive to Dardanelles from Istanbul & Troy Tour

Early departure from Istanbul, lunch in Eceabat, guided Troy visit through eight archaeological stops, and overnight in Canakkale.

06:30 - Pick up from your central Istanbul hotel and westbound departure.
You are collected from your centrally located Istanbul hotel and begin the overland journey toward Canakkale and the Troy region. The journey takes approximately 5 hours.
Pickup time may change according to central hotel location.
12:30 - Lunch in Eceabat.
On arrival in the Dardanelles area, the group stops for lunch in Eceabat before the archaeological program begins.
Lunch is included. Drinks are not included.
13:00 - Transfer to Troy Ancient City.
After lunch, you head to the Troy archaeological site with your guide for the afternoon visit.

16:00 - Tour ends and hotel transfer in Canakkale.
When the Troy visit finishes, you transfer to your hotel in Canakkale for check-in and overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel, check-out, and a flexible end in Canakkale, onward travel is not included unless arranged separately.

Good format for Troy visit. The overnight in Canakkale removes the pressure of a same-day return to Istanbul. Guide Mehmet really knew the archaeology, explained 9 different city layers one by one. Only reason for 4 stars is the drive from Istanbul is quite long, around 5 hours. But thats geography not the tours fault.

Nos encanto quedarnos en Canakkale despues de Troy. El sitio arqueologico es mas grande de lo que esperabamos, las murallas de hace 3700 anos siguen en pie. El guia explico cada capa de la ciudad muy bien, desde la epoca de Homero hasta los romanos. El almuerzo en Eceabat estaba rico. Por la noche paseamos por Canakkale y cenamos pescado frente al mar. Mucho mejor que intentar ir y volver a Istanbul en un dia.

Finally saw Troy properly instead of a quick bus stop photo op. The guide walked us through all the archaeological layers, from the Bronze Age walls up to the Roman baths on top. Having lunch in Eceabat before the visit was a nice break after the drive. Staying overnight in Canakkale meant we could explore the waterfront in the evening. Tbh the Trojan Horse replica is a bit cheesy but the actual ruins behind it are genuinly impressive when someone explains what your looking at.
