Taking the full loop path rather than just approaching the tallest chimneys is worth the extra few minutes.

Buying a piece from a family workshop means bringing home an object with a traceable artisan lineage.

• Rose Valley (Gulludere Valley): Rose Valley's trail descends from the upper plateau into the canyon floor and then climbs gently through orchards and past carved cliff facades before emerging near Cavusin. The variation in terrain and constant change of scenery makes the walk through Gulludere Valley feel much shorter than its actual length suggests.
• Cavusin Village: Carved wine presses found at the base of Cavusin's cliff confirm that viticulture was a central part of the community's economy alongside farming and religious activity. Cappadocia's volcanic soil produces distinctive mineral-rich wines, and Cavusin's location in the valley gave it access to the same fertile land worked by its neighbors.
• Pigeon Valley: Pigeon Valley's cliff walls contain layers of both carved pigeon houses and natural rock cavities formed by weathering, and distinguishing between them requires a close look at the regularity of each opening's shape. Carved houses have consistent rounded or rectangular profiles and smooth interior surfaces, while natural cavities are irregular in shape and rough inside.
