Pamukkale Touring RouteExpand briefing

Pamukkale → White Calcium Terraces → Hierapolis Ancient City → The Necropolis → Bath and Basilica → Frontinius Gate → Frontinius Street → Latrina → Northern Byzantine Gate → Fountain of the Tritons → The Temple of Apollon → Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool

Briefing

  • Pamukkale: Water temperature at Pamukkale's springs hovers around 35 degrees Celsius, warm enough to soak in and cool enough to stay a while.

  • White Calcium Terraces: At peak saturation periods, the white calcium pools shimmer with a pale turquoise tint from dissolved minerals still active in the warm water.

  • Hierapolis Ancient City: Beyond the famous terraces, Hierapolis contains a theater, a main street, several temples, bath complexes, and one of the largest ancient cemeteries in Anatolia.

  • The Necropolis: Burial dates at the Necropolis span from roughly the second century BC through to the Byzantine period, making it an extraordinary record of continuous habitation.

  • Bath and Basilica: Roman bath complexes served as community centers as much as hygiene facilities, and the size of this one tells you how central public bathing was to Hierapolis life.

  • Frontinius Gate: The gate's proportions follow standard Roman triumphal arch design: a dominant central span flanked by narrower secondary arches, all framed by engaged columns.

  • Frontinius Street: Shops and workshops once lined the ground floors beneath the colonnades, with residential and storage spaces filling the upper stories above them.

  • Latrina: Entrance to public latrinas in Roman cities was free, unlike the baths which charged a small fee, making them accessible to every level of society.

  • Northern Byzantine Gate: Large ashlar blocks in the lower courses of the northern gate are Roman originals; the smaller, rougher upper sections belong to Byzantine-era repairs and additions.

  • Fountain of the Tritons: Greek mythological imagery on a Roman fountain in what is now western Turkey shows how deeply Greek cultural traditions remained embedded in the Roman world.

  • The Temple of Apollon: Building a major temple directly above a toxic volcanic vent was a deliberate choice: the dangerous gas made the location seem genuinely touched by supernatural forces.

  • Cleopatra Antique Thermal Pool: Cleopatra Antique Pool sits inside the Hierapolis archaeological park, and while visiting the ruins is part of your tour, the swimming experience is optional and requires a separate fee paid on-site.

  1. 16:00 - Return transfer to your hotel.

After the Pamukkale route, you drive back to Selcuk/Kusadasi for the night.

Ephesus Tour & Flight to Istanbul

Breakfast, guided Ephesus route, airport transfer, return flight to Istanbul, and hotel drop-off.

  1. 08:30 - Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Ephesus.

After breakfast, the final guided day begins with the transfer to the Ephesus area.

Pickup time may vary slightly based on your hotel location.

Ephesus Ancient City Touring RouteExpand briefing

Ephesus Ancient City → Marble Streets → The Odeon → The Agora → The Temple of Hadrian → The Monumental Fountains → The Library of Celsus → The Great Amphitheatre → The Roman Baths → House of Virgin Mary → Temple of Artemis

Briefing

  • Ephesus Ancient City: Marble columns, carved inscriptions, and mosaic floors line a city that still feels remarkably complete.

  • Marble Streets: Curb stones and drainage channels built into the marble streets show just how advanced Roman city planning really was.

  • The Odeon: Sitting in the upper rows of Ephesus's Odeon gives you a commanding view over the lower city ruins.

  • The Agora: Public announcements, legal trials, and religious festivals all took place in the open spaces of Ephesus's agora.

  • The Temple of Hadrian: Compared to the massive temples of Ephesus, Hadrian's Temple is small but extraordinarily detailed in its carved decoration.

  • The Monumental Fountains: A fountain in ancient Ephesus was never just functional, it served as a public advertisement for the donor who built it.

  • The Library of Celsus: Carved column capitals on the Library of Celsus alternate between Corinthian and Composite styles across its two-story facade.

  • The Great Amphitheatre: Inscriptions on seat rows in Ephesus's Great Theatre assigned sections to specific guilds, religious groups, and city officials.

  • The Roman Baths: A statue of Scholastica, a 4th-century Christian woman who funded the bath complex renovation, was found during Ephesus excavations.

  • House of Virgin Mary: A German mystic's 19th-century visions of Mary's home led scholars to search the hills above Ephesus, and they found a structure.

  • Temple of Artemis: Croesus, king of Lydia, contributed gold columns to an early phase of the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus as recorded by Herodotus.

  1. 16:00 - Transfer to Izmir Airport.

After lunch and the final site visit, you continue to the airport for the evening flight.

  2. 20:00 - Flight from Izmir to Istanbul.

The package closes with the evening return flight to Istanbul.

    Flight time may change.

  3. 21:10 - Arrival and hotel transfer in Istanbul.

After landing, our team welcomes you and transfers you back to your hotel in Istanbul.

Arrival airport and time may change according to availability.
