great value for what you get. connecting Homer's Iliad to the actual ruins was amazing. I want to specifically thank Mustafa who made this experience truly memorable. This was our first time in Turkey and what an introduction. Hagia Sophia is massive and beautifull. Troy has so many layers of civilization its fascinating. pickup and dropoff were right on time. This is one of those tours that stays with you long after you get home.

Much deeper than a group tour would be. With a private guide you actualy learn about the archaeology not just take photos of the horse. Nine cities stacked on top of each other at this one spot, from the Bronze Age to Roman times. Guide explained how they know which layer is which from the pottery and building styles. The city walls from Troy I are some of the oldest things I've ever touched. Private car was comfortable for the long drive. Back in Istanbul by 9pm.

Private Troy tour was exactly what I wanted. No group rushing through the ruins, no schedule pressure. Our guide Mehmet walked us through all nine layers of Troy from bottom to top explaining what each civilization left behind. The 3700 year old walls are still standing which is mad. The sacrificial altars, the agora, the houses from 3000 BC, all explained in detail because it was just us and the guide. We even had time to sit at the viewpoint and just look over the plain of Troy where the battles supposedly happened. Trojan Horse replica is a bit cheesy but the kids loved it. Lunch on the way was decent. Long drive from Istanbul but worth it for the private experience.
