Troy & Pergamon Tour & Drive to Kuşadası

Day 2 ─ Troy & Pergamon Tour / Transfer to Kuşadası or Selçuk

Meal: Breakfast and Lunch

08:30 ─ You will be picked up from your hotel in Çanakkale and transferred to the legendary site of Troy.
(Exact pick-up time depends on your hotel location and will be provided the day before.)

Begin your day by exploring the UNESCO-listed Troy Ancient City, where layers of civilizations span over 5,000 years. This iconic site reveals nine different settlements built on top of one another, each destroyed and rebuilt over time due to natural disasters and invasions. With its strategic location between East and West, Troy was not only a military target but also a cultural hub in antiquity.

  1. View the replica of the famous Trojan Horse used in the 2004 movie “Troy.”
  2. Explore Sacrificial Altars and 3700-year-old city walls.
  3. See Houses of Troy I (3000 BC–2500 BC) and ruins from other Troy levels.
  4. Walk through the Agora, the center of ancient trade and social life.

After the guided tour in Troy, we will travel south to the majestic Pergamon Ancient City.

Situated on a dramatic hillside, Pergamon (also known as Pergamum) was once a flourishing capital during the Hellenistic period. Most of the surviving structures date back to the reign of Eumenes II (197–159 BC). Pergamon was a center of culture, politics, and medicine — even serving as a major healing sanctuary.

  1. Admire the steeply terraced Hellenistic Theater with a view of the valley below.
  2. Visit the ruins of the Zeus Altar and Temple of Athena.
  3. Learn about the Asklepion, one of the earliest known medical centers.

17:00 ─ The guided Troy and Pergamon tour concludes.

You will be transferred to your hotel in Kuşadası or Selçuk for overnight stay.

More Details

Your journey begins before sunrise in Istanbul, as you’re picked up directly from your hotel. The bustling city slowly gives way to rolling hills and the calm waters of the Dardanelles. By midday, you’re in Eceabat</strong, standing at the edge of memory.

The Gallipoli Peninsula greets you with solemn dignity. You walk along ANZAC Cove, touch the weathered stones of Lone Pine Cemetery, and listen to the silence at Chunuk Bair. The names on the memorials are more than letters; they are stories etched in stone.

After a night in Çanakkale, you awaken to another layer of history. In Troy, myth and archaeology intertwine — the legendary horse, ancient walls, and layers of civilization spark the imagination. But the journey continues deeper.

As you climb the acropolis of Pergamon, the views are breathtaking, but the ruins are humbling. Once a cultural and medical center, the city still echoes the presence of philosophers and healers. You explore the Temple of Athena, gaze from the heights of the ancient theater, and reflect in the peaceful remains of the Asklepion.

By sunset, you’re no longer in Istanbul — you’re on the Aegean coast, arriving at your hotel in Kuşadası. Two days, countless insights, and a seamless passage from legend to sea.

This tour doesn’t just take you places — it takes you back in time.

The must for archaeology lovers... Despite all the glory of the name, the Troia site does not seem remarkable at a first glance. It tells a very different story, though, one of the histories of modern archaeology, as you can see the results of amateurish methods that Schliemann used in the 19th century. It is really impressive to view all 9 layers of Troia at one glance.
